Wow Safari Thoiry lodges: sleep beside bears, Arctic wolves or African elephants
Choose the animal first. Chalets and elevated Tanières overlook American black bears, with the Chalets also facing coyotes. Loudges look onto the Arctic-wolf territory, while the Terres d’Afrique Lodges have private terraces above African elephants.

Pick your animal view, then choose the right package
Thoiry sells both a bed-and-breakfast stay and a fuller two-day immersive package. Park tickets, dinner and the animal activity are included only in the immersive package, so compare the booking summary before paying.
Which animals can you observe from each accommodation?
Animal visibility is never guaranteed. Thoiry states that weather, veterinary conditions and each animal’s behaviour can affect what guests see, so treat every view as a wildlife observation opportunity rather than a promise.
| Animal setting | Accommodation | What you may observe |
|---|---|---|
| Bear territory | Chalets des Ours | American black bears, also called baribals, and coyotes through a large panoramic window and from the private outdoor area. |
| Bear territory | Tanières Perchées | American black bears from a compact observation stay raised about three metres above the ground. |
| Arctic-wolf territory | Loudges | The Arctic-wolf pack through the main panoramic window, with additional morning observation from the glass tunnel. |
| Terres d’Afrique | Studio, Premium and Premium PMR Lodges | African elephants from a private raised terrace overlooking their territory. |
What is included, optional or excluded?
The details below were checked against Thoiry’s official accommodation pages, FAQ and terms on 20 October 2026. Live prices, offers and availability remain date-dependent.
| Item | Included or provided | Optional, excluded or to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Park admission | The immersive two-day/one-night package includes two days in the Safari and walking zoo. Seasonal Thoiry Lumières Sauvages access is also listed when the event is running. | The bed-and-breakfast formula does not list park admission. Confirm the exact package selected. |
| Breakfast and dinner | Breakfast at Restaurant Azimut is included in both formulas. The immersive package also includes an entrée-and-main or main-and-dessert dinner. | Drinks are excluded from the immersive-package dinner. Dinner is not listed in the bed-and-breakfast formula. |
| Bed linen and towels | All four accommodation families list duvets, covers, pillows and bed linen. Towels and bath sheets are also provided. | The public pages do not explicitly confirm that every bed or convertible bed is made before arrival. |
| Kitchen | Chalets, Loudges and elephant Lodges have a kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, crockery and cutlery. | Tanières do not list a kitchenette. None of the inspected descriptions promises a hob or full cooking kitchen. |
| Bathroom | Chalets, Loudges and elephant Lodges have a private shower room and supplied toiletries. Tanière guests receive towels. | Tanières use outdoor dry toilets and shared showers a short walk away. |
| Terrace or outdoor area | Chalets, Loudges and elephant Lodges list a private outdoor area or terrace facing the animals. | The compact Tanière is an elevated observation unit rather than a full lodge terrace. |
| Animal activity | The immersive package includes a VIP educational activity linked to the stay: an animal feeding or privileged elephant-house moment depending on the accommodation. | This activity is not listed in the bed-and-breakfast formula and may vary by animal setting. |
| Cleaning | Routine hotel-style assistance and room service are listed for the stay. | The inspected public pages do not clearly state a separate end-of-stay cleaning policy or fee. Confirm it in the final booking summary. |
| Parking | A free dedicated car park is reserved for Nuits de Thoiry guests. | Electric-vehicle charging availability was not confirmed on the accommodation pages. |
| Taxes and supplements | No booking fee is stated in the official terms. | Tourist tax is calculated per person and day and is payable onsite. Optional additions, upgrades and drinks may cost extra. |
| Transport | No journey to Thoiry is included in the stay. | Train, bus, taxi or the reservable station shuttle must be organised separately. |

Getting to Wow Safari Thoiry
Thoiry is in the Yvelines, west of Paris. Transport comes after the animal and package decision because the final rural connection needs planning.
- By car: the official route uses the A13, A12 and N12 from Paris, followed by the Thoiry exit and local D76/D11 roads. Guest parking is provided.
- By train: travel from Paris toward Dreux and leave at Montfort-l’Amaury–Méré.
- Last mile: the Nuits de Thoiry access page says a shuttle to the park can be reserved during the accommodation booking process. Confirm its timetable and cost before buying non-refundable rail tickets.
- By public bus: the main park also lists bus 78 from Mantes-la-Jolie, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines or Villiers–Neauphle–Pontchartrain to Thoiry town. Check the current timetable and the onward walk or transfer.
