Parc Zoo du Reynou: sleep facing wolves or African wildlife
Choose the animal experience first. Akela, Fenrir and Slava lodges face European wolves. The six African lodges overlook a shared plain with giraffes, Cape eland, Watusi cattle, ostriches, scimitar-horned oryx and lechwe. Animals move freely, and giraffes are brought indoors before the zoo closes, so no species can be guaranteed at every moment.
Choose wolves or the African plain, then compare lodge size
Every lodge stay currently includes a two-day zoo pass, breakfast, prepared beds, bed linen, towels, a private washroom, kitchenette equipment, a terrace and free parking. Dinner and resident activities are optional.
Which animals can you observe from each lodge?
The lodge name determines the habitat, not just the room layout. The official pages distinguish three European-wolf lodges from six lodges around the African plain.
| Lodge category | Capacity and setting | Animals visible from the accommodation |
|---|---|---|
| Akela, Fenrir and Slava | Up to 4 guests · panoramic wolf view · private terrace with heated Nordic bath. | European wolves. Each lodge faces the wolves’ territory through a large viewing area. |
| Africa Lodge with Nordic bath | 4 to 16 guests · six bedrooms · large terrace and Nordic bath. | African-plain outlook with giraffes, Cape eland, Watusi cattle, ostriches and scimitar-horned oryx listed on the lodge page. |
| Africa Lodge | 4 to 8 guests · three bedrooms · terrace. | African-plain outlook with giraffes, Cape eland, Watusi cattle, ostriches and scimitar-horned oryx listed on the lodge page. |
| Safari Lodge and Savana Lodge | Up to 6 guests · raised terrace · two sleeping rooms. | Giraffes, ostriches and Watusi cattle; the Savana page also names lechwe, while the wider plain includes Cape eland and scimitar-horned oryx. |
| Cosy Lodge | Up to 4 guests · terrace · walk-in shower. | Giraffes, lechwe, Watusi cattle and Cape eland are named on the official lodge page. |
| Tanganika Lodge | Up to 4 guests · terrace · reduced-mobility layout and adapted shower. | Giraffes, ostriches, scimitar-horned oryx and Cape eland are named on the official lodge page. |
What is included, optional or not included?
These practical details were checked against the official lodge, booking, access, room-service and sales-condition pages on 29 October 2026. Live prices, packages and availability must still be checked during official booking.
| Item | Included or provided | Optional, excluded or to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Zoo admission | A two-day Parc Zoo du Reynou pass is included with the lodge reservation, during the park’s opening days and hours. | Any visit outside the valid stay period needs separate confirmation. |
| Breakfast | A breakfast basket is delivered to the lodge in the morning. Hot-drink equipment is provided. | Check dietary needs with the lodge team before arrival. |
| Dinner | Dinner is not part of the standard inclusion stated on the lodge pages. | Optional catered meals and aperitif platters can be pre-ordered; the park asks guests to reserve dinner at least 72 hours before arrival. |
| Bed linen, towels and beds | Bed linen and towels are supplied, toiletries are provided and beds are made before arrival. | Baby equipment is available on request and should be reserved. |
| Kitchenette | The official pages list a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, Nespresso machine, crockery and a dining area. | This is kitchenette equipment rather than a promise of a full kitchen with a hob or oven. |
| Bathroom | Each inspected lodge category has a private washroom; layouts include showers, walk-in showers or wooden baths depending on the lodge. | Choose Tanganika Lodge for the dedicated reduced-mobility shower layout. |
| Terrace | All lodge families advertise a private terrace or outdoor viewing area. | Nordic baths are specific to the three wolf lodges and the large Africa Lodge category, not every lodge. |
| Cleaning | The lodge is prepared for arrival; no standard end-of-stay cleaning surcharge is presented as an automatic inclusion. | Guests must leave the lodge in acceptable condition. The park states that unusually heavy cleaning can be charged at €55. |
| Parking | Free guest parking is listed. African lodge pages also mention an electric charging point. | Confirm charging availability for the chosen date and lodge. |
| Activities | No keeper-led activity is automatically listed as part of the basic lodge package. | The 90-minute Zoo Lodgeurs activity is a paid resident option, subject to dates and availability. Other park activities are booked separately. |
| Taxes and supplements | Only services shown in the selected official package should be treated as included. | Tourist tax is collected with the booking balance. Extra guests, meals, activities and other additions can create supplements. |
| Transport | No station transfer is included. | International travellers should arrange the final journey from Limoges, normally by taxi or hire car. |
How to choose your Reynou lodge
Akela, Fenrir or Slava
Choose this family for the closest wolf-focused stay. The three categories share a four-person layout, panoramic habitat view, kitchenette, private washroom and terrace with a heated Nordic bath.
Africa Lodge with Nordic bath
Choose the largest lodge for an extended family or group. It has six bedrooms, a broad African-plain outlook and a private Nordic bath.
Africa, Safari or Savana
These lodges suit families wanting giraffes and mixed African wildlife. Africa Lodge offers the larger indoor capacity, while Safari and Savana are raised lodges for up to six.
Cosy or Tanganika
Both take up to four guests. Choose Tanganika when an adapted shower and reduced-mobility layout are required; choose Cosy for its wood-cabin atmosphere and walk-in shower.
Getting to Parc Zoo du Reynou
Parc Zoo du Reynou is at Le Vigen, south of Limoges in Haute-Vienne. The official access page recommends completing a rail journey to Limoges by taxi.
- By car: this is the simplest option for the lodge stay and for carrying food or luggage. Free parking is included.
- By train: travel to Limoges, then pre-book a taxi for the rural final connection. Check the current train and taxi arrangements for your dates.
- By air: if arriving through Limoges airport, arrange a hire car or private transfer rather than assuming a zoo shuttle.
