Parc Animalier de Sainte-Croix lodges: sleep beside wolves, black bears and deer

Choose Sainte-Croix for the animal outside your window, not simply for a night inside a wildlife park. Depending on the accommodation, you can face European grey wolves, black-coated North American wolves, Arctic wolves, American black bears, bison, coyotes, raccoons or a broad deer plain with red deer, does and fallow deer.

Which animal will you sleep beside?

The lodge name determines the wildlife experience. Animal sightings remain natural and cannot be guaranteed at a particular moment, but these are the viewing areas described by the park for each category.

Animal experience Accommodation categories What the park describes
European grey wolves Hameau des Loups; La Tanière Lodges positioned by grey-wolf territory, with La Tanière designed for close observation from a sheltered interior.
Black-coated North American wolves Jack London Lodge; Yellowstone Lodge; Yukon Lodge Large windows or terraces facing the black-wolf area. Jack London adds a private terrace jacuzzi facing the pack.
Arctic or white wolves Lodges d’Amarok; Cabane du Trappeur Amarok has broad openings around the lodge; the Trapper’s Cabin has a private terrace overlooking the white-wolf territory.
American black bears, coyotes and bison Lodges des Ours Noirs Stilt lodges above the black-bear river, with a terrace overlooking the North American animal territory.
Black bears, coyotes and raccoons La Grange du Nouveau Monde Rooms and terraces face a North American animal landscape rather than a single-species enclosure.
Red deer, does and fallow deer Lodges des Cerfs; Yourtes au brame du cerf The deer lodges overlook a large cervid plain and ponds; the yurts offer dedicated viewing points, especially relevant during the autumn rut.

What does the premium stay include?

The park sells a package rather than a room-only night. The following was checked on the official Sainte-Croix pages on 5 October 2026. Confirm the final booking summary because dates, options and individual lodge equipment can change.

Item Included Optional, excluded or category-specific
Park admission Access for the duration of the stay, commonly presented as both park days for a one-night booking. Extra paid experiences are separate unless the selected rate explicitly adds them.
Dinner Dinner is included in the standard lodge package. Drinks and optional menu additions are excluded. Very late arrivals may receive a meal basket instead of restaurant service.
Breakfast Breakfast is included. Optional additions are not part of the standard package.
Bed linen and towels Bed linen and bathroom linen are included. Individual lodge pages such as Amarok, Jack London and the Deer Lodges state that beds are made for arrival. Check the chosen category rather than assuming every unusual unit is identical.
Bathroom Main lodge categories list a private bathroom, shower and towels. Some rustic categories differ. The deer-rut yurts, for example, list shared showers and shared dry toilets.
Kitchen facilities Many lodges provide a microwave, fridge or minibar, coffee machine and kettle. Do not expect a full self-catering kitchen. Equipment varies by category and meals are already included.
Terrace Many animal-facing lodges have a private or covered viewing terrace. Size and privacy differ. Deer Lodges list an 11 m² covered terrace; Black Bear Lodges provide a large animal-facing terrace.
End-of-stay cleaning Several detailed lodge pages list end-of-stay cleaning as a service. Check the final rate conditions for the exact unit.
Winter programme For the official winter-stay period from 20 November 2026 to 19 March 2027, the park includes its evening light experience for overnight guests and two resident-only activities in eligible lodges. The two exclusive activities are available in all winter lodges except the stilt lodges. The park can revise the programme, so check the selected date.
Parking and charging Parking is available at the park. Electric-vehicle charging is paid. The official access page listed €0.45/kWh when checked on 5 October 2026.
Transport and local taxes Not included in the lodge package. Train tickets, taxi, hire car and any tax shown in the final booking breakdown remain traveller costs.

How to choose the right lodge

Best for wolf enthusiasts

Choose the pack, not just the word “wolf”

Grey, black-coated and Arctic wolves occupy different areas. For premium comfort, Jack London combines a black-wolf view with a terrace jacuzzi. For a white-wolf setting, compare Amarok with the larger Trapper’s Cabin.

Best for a broad animal landscape

Black bears and North American species

The Black Bear Lodges face bears, coyotes and bison. La Grange du Nouveau Monde combines black bears, coyotes and raccoons and can suit travellers who prefer a room within a larger lodge building.

Best for calm observation

The deer plain

The Deer Lodges combine a private bathroom, made beds and a covered terrace with a panoramic view of the cervid plain. The yurts are more rustic, with shared sanitary facilities, and are particularly associated with the rutting season.

Before paying

Compare the exact unit page

Capacity, bed layout, bathroom type, terrace, accessibility and winter eligibility differ. Dynamic prices are displayed for the selected date and party, so ZooSleep does not reproduce a fixed “from” price.

Getting to Sainte-Croix from abroad

The park is in Rhodes in the Moselle department of eastern France. Its official access page places it about 15 km from Sarrebourg TGV station. For an international itinerary, rail can cover the main journey, but the final transfer should be arranged before arrival.

  • By train: search for Sarrebourg and verify the timetable for your exact travel date.
  • Last mile: pre-book a taxi from Sarrebourg or collect a hire car earlier in the journey. Do not rely on an urban public-transport connection to the park.
  • By car: driving is the simplest option if Sainte-Croix is part of a wider Alsace, Lorraine or cross-border itinerary.
  • Electric car: charging points are available, but charging is paid and the rate can change.
Planning order: first select the animal and lodge category, then confirm what the chosen rate includes, and only then book the train, taxi or car around the park’s arrival instructions.

Booking and independent-guide note

ZooSleep is an independent editorial guide and does not manage Sainte-Croix reservations, prices or availability. Use the official calendar to compare dates and the final package. The official pages state that rates vary according to period and availability.

Frequently asked questions

Which animals can I see from a lodge?

Depending on the category: European grey wolves, black-coated North American wolves, Arctic wolves, American black bears, bison, coyotes, raccoons, red deer, does and fallow deer.

Are park tickets and meals included?

Yes. The official package includes park access, dinner and breakfast. Drinks and optional extras are excluded unless your selected rate says otherwise.

Does every lodge have a private bathroom and kitchen?

No. Main lodge categories commonly have a private bathroom and small food-preparation equipment, not a full kitchen. Rustic units can differ; the deer-rut yurts list shared showers and dry toilets.

Can I reach the park without a car?

Yes, with advance planning. Sarrebourg station is about 15 km away, so pre-book the final taxi transfer. A car remains easier for a multi-stop rural itinerary.
